#13: Establish a Chiemgauer
Economic Experiement which would demonstrate an alternative to
capitalistic economies.
Submitted by Andreas Bangemann of Germany
In Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands over the
last two years many projects involving the forming of local currencies
were launched. For example in the South-East of Munich there is
a region near the sea called "Chiemsee". They have a
special currency called "Chiemgauer" . More than 300
retailers are involved and they are offering there goods which
can be paid with "Chiemgauer".
The currencies are build on the model a german economist, who
died in 1930. His name was Silvio
Gesell.
His model is to make money equal to the goods and services provided
and thereby eliminate the use of interest.
The disadvantage of this experiment using a small region is the
small numbers of participants for the Gesell economy. If we could
give this model a try in a metropolitan city like New York we
could show that this kind of ecomomic system which benefits all
people and it would be adopted around the world.
With 500 Billion Dollars, the Silvio Gesell economic model could
change the world and liberate the free market economy from capitalism.
